Ancient Gods: Card Battle RPG, a turn-based card battle strategy game, combines rogue-lite gameplay with a diverse range of historical civilizations. The 2D graphics in the game include vibrant environments, customizable characters, and images of original playing cards. The characters have Western-style shapes, particularly the female ones, with wonderful shapes. The background music is dramatic and reminiscent of the Middle Ages, and the sound effects are vibrant.
The rules are simple: at the start of each round, you randomly draw four cards from your hand. If you don’t like those four cards, you can draw four more from your deck randomly. The energy levels of the characters are shown on the left, and using cards depletes them. Meanwhile, the amount of energy consumed when using each card will be displayed in the upper left corner of each card. Your mana will be replenished with each new turn, and at the start of each new turn, you will be dealt four cards randomly from your deck.
If a player wins every match, they will receive a treasure chest full of coins and the ability to choose one of three cards. The coin can be spent at various shops to purchase various trading cards. There is also a chance that the player will encounter random events that will affect the character. For example, your character can rest and heal if you’re traveling and come across a campfire. After each battle, whatever HP the character still has is not automatically restored; HP is only restored if certain conditions are met. The game features over 30 playable characters, each with two passive skills that can be leveled up. However, the character only has the first skill unlocked; the remaining skills will be unlocked once the character has been upgraded to level 20. Furthermore, the upgrade will help improve the character’s stat system, and they can only be upgraded after the player has accumulated a sufficient number of character cards.
